Adm. Franklin Brickley is the Commanding Officer of the Ring Station, and the Director of the U.S. Space Force.

Profile: Admiral Brickley is a Bureaucrat, based at the Ring Station (aka StarCom Headquarters Saturn), It is his special duty to oversee the activities of Dash, Slim and Crowbar. This is obviously not an easy task, but the Admiral bears up under his duties with grace and dignity. He is a good soldier, if overly concerned with regulations. It is the opinion of the Psych Team that he secretly misses being in the field, misses sharing in the "fun and adventure" which our heroes are so proud of; Brickley is, however, the last person you would ever hear admit to such.
While this situation is made easier by the fact that circumstances sometimes force the Admiral to leave the safety of SatCom (the Satellite Command Center), and to get directly involved in a combat situation, these times are rare. Generally, StarCom's Director is required to remain very much in the background. According to reports, this necessary inactivity causes him to come down hard on the three Colonels, and on other younger officers...although he does allow the occasional minor infraction to get by.
